Job Summary

The Operations Controller provides oversight of financial operations in a multi-unit Healthcare Foodservice account. This position collaborates with a centralized accounting department to ensure operational finance activity is posted timely and accurately.

2 days from home office, 3 days at the accounts in the Charlotte market

Key Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Monthly reconciliation of all client billing.

  • Accurate and timely preparation and delivery of monthly client invoices.

  • Ensures all AP & ARs are managed in an efficient manner.

  • Assist with Internal Control Review Corporate audit for all cost centers to ensure cash, sales, inventory, account receivables, accounts payable, payroll and security compliance.

  • Provide support to new and seasoned Directors in the understanding and use of e-Finance (finance system) to ensure consistency and improve accuracy in financial reporting.

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.

  • Prepare annual CPI increase file.

  • Monitor SharePoint for all required backup per contract, for both mid-month and end month.

  • Prepare and distribute weekly/monthly reporting of Floor Stocks, Department Requisitions, Doctors Meals, Free Meals, FTEs, etc. to operations teams, and help identify gaps.

  • Ensure proper pricing is entered in retail, cater-track, Floor Stocks, Department Reqs, etc.

  • Run Gem Pay and P-card reporting for entire system.

  • Monthly reconciliation of patient days.

  • Manage month end closing ensuring all transfers are coded correctly as well as all miscellaneous expenses are journaled in the correct account.

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of business processes and projects.

  • Assist in setting up new vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent professional experience

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience with revenue control, financial reporting, and cash handling responsibilities

  • Experience with management reporting a plus as well as operational knowledge and experience

  • Adept at planning, organizing, and controlling complex processes as well as analyzing moderately complex financial information.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills

  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities and relationships.

  • Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office with a concentration in Excel, POS experience a plus

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks/priorities.

  • Professional demeanor and presentation.
