Job Summary

The Visual Merchandising Manager will be a highly skilled creative individual who is adept at developing and managing the visual merchandising standards for the Chartwells brand. Reporting to the Director of Visual Merchandising and Style, the Visual Merchandising Manager will execute merchandising strategies for retail catering and residential operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on responsibility for setting new units, refreshes, renovations and sector trade shows

  • Direct all visual planning and assist the onsite team with the management of individual projects from start to finish including budgeting/schedules, vendor management, site visits and execution

  • Responsible for sourcing display vehicles, merchandise fixtures, and service wares

  • Assist with the execution of the brand integrity of the company

  • Support with rebid and retention efforts, to include master planning, facility refresh efforts, proposal development and presentation support

  • Ensure allocated capital investment funds are spent in accordance with sector brand standards

  • Develop and implement merchandising training for managers and hourly associates

  • Participate with the design and construction team in concept development and design input

  • Work with the culinary team to implement display, merchandising and operational guidelines for new and existing food programs

  • Conduct unit audits to assure quality and compliance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Passion for identifying emerging trends in the design/dining space

  • 4-5 years of retail management, marketing, multi-unit management or merchandising experience; creative design skills a plus

  • Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environment

  • Have a flair for design and color

  • Must be self-motivated, creative, imaginative and energetic

  • Must be comfortable interacting with clients and senior leadership

  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to organize complex information

  • Strong planning, organizational and self-direction skills with a sense of priority for tight deadlines and attention to details

  • Ability to read and comprehend design and build drawings

  • Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to collaborate, communicate and integrate with virtual and local in market teams

  • Recognizes and reacts to changing work demands with non-traditional hours

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs

  • National travel required up to 80%
