Job Summary

The Associate Director of Retail provides overall strategy, leadership, creativity, development communication, and execution of all retail directives in the Northeast Division. This individual will have a keen ability to develop partnerships to deliver value added services that reflect the business objectives of the organization. This individual reports to the Director of Retail and works closely with all Northeast Regional Vice Presidents and Directors to provide customized planograms and improved client experience to increase revenue, product velocity and client retention. This role is focused on maximizing sales and profitability, analyzing sales performance data to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. This business savvy candidate will have a proven track record in relationship building, analytics and problem solving. This role will manage relationships with both new and established vendor partners, including but not limited to fresh food, supply chain/ distribution, CPG industry.

In addition to Division based directives, the Director of Retail also leads the retail strategy driven by Canteen Sector working as the liaison to all Compass Sectors to create an optimal customer experience, enhance operational efficiencies, and drive margin improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supports the development, management, and optimization of retail business to achieve base business and PBO growth, new sales, retention objectives with emphasis on driving innovation and creativity.

• Responsibilities include strategy, development, launch, measurement, and continuous improvement of Division and Sector developed programs to drive revenue, profit, satisfaction, consumer loyalty, retention, and differentiate Canteen from the competition.

• Work with all operators to customize product mix by region to increase profitability and develop new revenue streams. Track and analyze product mix and ensure measurement tools are in place. Oversee planogram implementation audits, conduct field visits to observe program execution, and capture feedback to improve performance.

• Manage and inspire team of field implementation managers to develop consumer- centered programming that drive participation.

• Works closely with leadership and procurement teams to help drive the preferred and new product process for the team.

• Collaborate with data teams to monitor trends and develop actionable insights, with a focus on product mix and promotions.

Qualifications:

• Proven ability to effectively present information, written and verbal and respond to questions from groups of mangers, clients, customers.

• 5+ years experience with retail or food service highly desired.

• A high level of expertise with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook is required.

• Highly organized, assertive and self - confident individual.

• Financial analysis and/ or metric analysis understanding required.

• Consistently displays strong integrity and ethics.

• Travel throughout Northeast Region is estimated 40%.
