We are hiring immediately for a CATERING & EVENTS MANAGER position.
Location: Foundry & Lux, 151 Oyster Point Blvd, Building 3, South San Francisco, CA 94080. Note: online applications accepted only.
Schedule: Full Time; Monday through Friday 8am-6pm.
Details: Foundry & Lux is a modern café, casual dining room, and lounge offering a wide range of options for dining and relaxing, including bowling, pool, bocce, & more. Foundry hosts multiple events each week and offers drop-off catering. Foundry & Lux is open from 7am-8pm Monday through Friday. The operation is located on a biotech campus. It provides a variety of culinary offerings and amenities to the employees on campus ranging from breakfast to lunch to happy hour and hosts over 300 events yearly. The team comprises more than 20 employees, and the event manager would work collaboratively with the chefs, management team, and more than 10 front-of-house team members to execute events.
Requirement: Event booking experience, strong computer skills, strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, excellent communication skills, client relations skills, strong time management skills, and ability to multitask and problem solve. Sales experience preferred.
Salary Range: $68,640-$70,000

Job Summary
Summary: As a Catering Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Catering Department in all duties including training new associates, overseeing event set-ups, and directing any temporary personnel in addition to their everyday assignments. You will ensure proper service to clients during events, including proper set-up, cleaning, and breakdown procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises all catering events.
Involved in catering events operations, including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and all facility-related activities.
Works with the Chef in creating menus.
Trains catering associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.
Tracks and monitors the labor and food cost for each event.
Communicates on various levels to include management, client, customer and associate levels; maintains excellent client relationships.
Assists in the responsibility for all foodservice-related activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
2 years of food service experience including 1 year at the management level.
Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
Catering experience is required.
Some knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
Financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills.
Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
ServSafe Certification.
